Description: This is a re-issue of the 1/35 scale model kit of the AAVP7A1 amphibious troop transport. First introduced in 1972 under the name of LVTP-7, this venerable vehicle has seen a number of upgrades and refits, and is still deployed by the U.S. Marine Corps today. It has seen action in a number of conflicts including the 1983 invasion of Grenada, the Gulf War and 2003 invasion of Iraq. Newer variants were fitted with the Up-Gunned Weapon Station (UGWS), a turret mounted with an MK19 40mm grenade launcher and M2 heavy barrel .50 caliber machine gun.
Prototype:
The Assault Amphibious Vehicle (AAV)—official designation AAVP-7A1 (formerly known as Landing Vehicle, Tracked, Personnel-7 abbr. LVTP-7)—is a fully tracked amphibious landing vehicle manufactured by U.S. Combat Systems (previously by United Defense, a former division of FMC Corporation).

The AAV-P7/A1 is the current amphibious troop transport of the United States Marine Corps. It is used by U.S. Marine Corps Assault Amphibian Battalions to land the surface assault elements of the landing force and their equipment in a single lift from assault shipping during amphibious operations to inland objectives and to conduct mechanized operations and related combat support in subsequent mechanized operations ashore. It is also operated by other forces. Marines call them "amtracs", a shortening of their original designation, "amphibious tractor".

In June 2018, the Marine Corps announced they had selected the BAE Systems/Iveco wheeled SuperAV for the Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) program to supplement and ultimately replace the AAV.
Brand:
Tamiya Incorporated (株式会社タミヤ Kabushiki gaisha Tamiya) is a Japanese manufacturer of plastic model kits, radio controlled cars, battery and solar powered educational models, sailboat models, acrylic and enamel model paints and various modeling tools and supplies.
