Company History: Richard R. Riss, Sr. founded his own truck company in Colorado in 1927 with one truck. In the early 1930's, Riss & Company, Inc. moves its headquarters to Kansas City, Missouri. They also opens their first terminal in that city. In 1954, Riss had the 5th largest truck line with 6,172 miles of road rights in 21 states and 34 terminals throughout United States. Company ceased operations in December of 1989.
