Company History: The 90 mile B&E was established in 1924 to takeover the failed Buffalo & Lake Erie Traction Company. They connected Buffalo, New York with Erie, Pennsylvania as well as the adjacent communities of Dunkirk, Fredonia, Silver Creek, Hamburk and Lackawanna. The new company immediately acquired 14 cars that could be operated solely by the motorman thus eliminating the need for a conductor. The company fell into receivership in 1928 and the last car ran in January, 1933.
