Company History: The Lone Cactus Railroad is little more than a set of spurs serving owner Rose Acre Farms’ egg farm in Utting, Arizona. Operation began in 2018. The farm was built to serve the California market. Eggs sold in California are required to come from “cage free” chickens but due to Arizona’s business friendly nature, Rose Acre located (with the help of Arizona & California Railroad) just over the border in Utting. Rather than calling on Arizona & California to constantly shove blocks of covered hoppers full of chicken feed through the un-loader, Rose Acre Farms acquired an EMD MP15AC and painted it for Rose Acre with Lone Cactus Railroad on the cab. How much chicken feed do they haul? They estimated about 50,000 tons in 2019.

Midwestern metropolis Chicago is known for influential architecture and on the west coast, Los Angeles' Hollywood is famed for filmmaking.
