Company History: The BRR was established in 2010 by the Battle River Producer Car Group, a farmer co-op in central Alberta to take over the Canadian National branch from Camrose southeast to Alliance. Most of the run is made on the longest tangent track in Alberta – 52 miles without a curve. As you would expect, traffic is grain and fertilizer. Early on, trains ran on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays but recently they have changed that to one (longer) train per week. Grain moves for a flat $1,000 (Canadian) per car. Car storage is another source of business. The line also hosts passenger excursions about six times per year.
Brief History: Canada is a North American country stretching from the U.S. in the south to the Arctic Circle in the north. Major cities include massive Toronto, west coast film centre Vancouver, French-speaking Montréal and Québec City, and capital city Ottawa. Canada's vast swaths of wilderness include lake-filled Banff National Park in the Rocky Mountains. It's also home to Niagara Falls, a famous group of massive waterfalls.
