Company History: The C&SOE was the product of the 1937 reorganization of the Columbus Railway Power & Light Company which provided streetcar and electric utility service to the city of Columbus, Ohio. At the time of the reorganization, they had already begun the slow conversion from streetcars to buses. The process stalled at the outset of World War II but resumed once wartime restrictions were lifted. The last streetcar ran in the autumn of 1948.
