Citgo

Company History: Citgo Petroleum Corporation (or Citgo, stylized as CITGO) is a United States–based refiner, transporter and marketer of transportation fuels, lubricants, petrochemicals and other industrial products. Headquartered in the Energy Corridor area of Houston, it is majority-owned by PDVSA, a state-owned company of the Venezuelan government.
The company traces was founded as Cities Service Company by oil entrepreneur Henry Latham Doherty in 1910.
Cities Service Company inaugurated use of the Citgo brand (officially styled "CITGO") for its refining, marketing and retail petroleum businesses in 1965.
In 1986, fifty percent of Citgo was sold to Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA) , which acquired the remainder in 1990, resulting in the current ownership structure.
