Company History: CVR was established in 1871 and was subsequently built from Toronto to Orangeville, Ontario with branches between Cataract and Elora, as well as Streetsville to St. Thomas. The mainline was parallel to and between the Grand Trunk and the Great Western railways so securing a share of traffic proved difficult. By 1881, CVR was looking to be leased or acquired. In 1883, they were leased by Canadian Pacific subsidiary Ontario & Quebec Railway. Most of the line is still operated today by Canadian Pacific.
Brief History:
Canada is a North American country stretching from the U.S. in the south to the Arctic Circle in the north. Major cities include massive Toronto, west coast film centre Vancouver, French-speaking Montréal and Québec City, and capital city Ottawa. Canada's vast swaths of wilderness include lake-filled Banff National Park in the Rocky Mountains. It's also home to Niagara Falls, a famous group of massive waterfalls.
