Company History: The CRRwy was established in 1890 and built a 12 mile line between Croyland and Hallton, Pennsylvania. Along the way, it served Portland Lumber Company and Elk Tanning Company in Portland, another tannery in Arroyo, and finally the Hall Gardener & Company sawmill and Clawson Chemical Company in Hallton. Clawson Chemical owned the railroad for a number of years. Their largest locomotive was the #119, a secondhand 4-6-0 that proved to be far too heavy for the line. The CRRwy was abandoned in 1948.
