Royal Dutch Salt (KNZ)

Company History: The Royal Dutch Salt Industry (KNZ) is a Dutch former chemical company founded on June 18, 1918. One of the founders was Ko Vis, a salt maker from the Zaan region.

In 1962 the first of a long series of mergers followed, with KNZ merging with Ketjen to form Koninklijke Zout Ketjen. Ultimately, this would give rise to the AkzoNobel group. From Wikipedia

The official language is Dutch, but a secondary official language in the province of Friesland is West Frisian. In the northern parts of the country, Low German is also spoken.
