Company History: The C-A opened in 1901 with electric interurban service linking Canton and Akron, Ohio. They also provided streetcar service in Canton. The following year, they acquired the Canton & Massillon Electric Railway which ran between its namesake cities. In 1906, the C-A merged with other Canton area interurban lines to form Canton-Akron Consolidated Railways. A short time later, they were acquired by Northern Ohio Traction & Light.
