Transportation Company - Calgary Municipal - Railroad

Company History: This streetcar line serving Calgary, Alberta was established in 1909 as the Calgary Electric Railway then a few months later renamed “Calgary electric railway” with the lower case e and r. In 1910, it was renamed again “Calgary municipal railway” with lower case m and r. The curious capitalization is something you would usually see in Quebec. After the Second World War, they drew up plans to replace streetcars with trolley busses. As part of this conversion, in 1946 the name was changed again to “Calgary Transit System.” The last streetcar ran in 1950.
Brief History:
Canada is a North American country stretching from the U.S. in the south to the Arctic Circle in the north. Major cities include massive Toronto, west coast film centre Vancouver, French-speaking Montréal and Québec City, and capital city Ottawa. Canada's vast swaths of wilderness include lake-filled Banff National Park in the Rocky Mountains. It's also home to Niagara Falls, a famous group of massive waterfalls.
