Transportation Company - Bellingham Bay & British Columbia - Railroad

Company History: The BB&BC was established in 1883 after the Northern Pacific chose Tacoma, Washington as their terminus rather than Whatcom on Bellingham Bay (Whatcom was later renamed Bellingham.) The goal of BB&BC was to build north from Whatcom toward Burrand Inlet in what is now Vancouver, British Columbia (about 55 miles north of Whatcom) and meet the Canadian Pacific which was building westward. They continued to build through the turn of the century reaching Sumas, Glacier, Lynden, Goshen, Deming and Welcome, Washington. In 1912, BB&BC was merged into the Bellingham & Northern Railway which would become part of the Milwaukee Road six years later.
Brief History:
The U.S. is a country of 50 states covering a vast swath of North America, with Alaska in the northwest and Hawaii extending the nation’s presence into the Pacific Ocean. Major Atlantic Coast cities are New York, a global finance and culture center, and capital Washington, DC. Midwestern metropolis Chicago is known for influential architecture and on the west coast, Los Angeles' Hollywood is famed for filmmaking.
