Company History: The BGTCo opened in 1911 and ran six miles from a point just south of the business district in Indianapolis, Indiana to the suburb of Beech Grove. Operations began with streetcars picked up secondhand from the Winona Railroad but these were later replaced with newer secondhand cars. BGTCo did not generate their own electricity, instead buying it from the neighboring Indianapolis Railways. In 1938, BGTCo couldn’t pay their electric bill and the power was disconnected. Needless to say, this hampered operations and the line closed.
Brief History: The U.S. is a country of 50 states covering a vast swath of North America, with Alaska in the northwest and Hawaii extending the nation’s presence into the Pacific Ocean. Midwestern metropolis Chicago is known for influential architecture and on the west coast, Los Angeles' Hollywood is famed for filmmaking.
