Company History: This company was born from the 1893 sale and reorganization of the Annapolis & Baltimore Short Line which was a steam road running from Baltimore, Maryland along the north bank of the Savern River, then over the river to Annapolis. Access to the center of Baltimore was over trackage rights on the Baltimore & Ohio. In 1908, the B&ASL was electrified and a fleet of interurban cars were acquired to handle the line’s significant passenger traffic. The company’s nickname “Annapolis Short Line” was usually used in place of the B&ASL name on interurban cars. In 1921, the company was merged into the Washington Baltimore & Annapolis Electric Railway.
Brief History: The U.S. is a country of 50 states covering a vast swath of North America, with Alaska in the northwest and Hawaii extending the nation’s presence into the Pacific Ocean. Major Atlantic Coast cities are New York, a global finance and culture center, and capital Washington, DC. Midwestern metropolis Chicago is known for influential architecture and on the west coast, Los Angeles' Hollywood is famed for filmmaking.
