Company History: The Solothurn-Münster-Bahn ( SMB ), also known as Solothurn-Moutier-Bahn or Chemin de fer Soleure-Moutier , is a former railway company based in Solothurn , Switzerland , which owned the line from Solothurn to Moutier in the Bernese Jura. It started operations in 1908 and merged in 1997 with the Emmental-Burgdorf-Thun-Bahn (EBT) and the Vereinigte Huttwil-Bahnen (VHB), with which the SMB had previously formed an operating partnership, to form Mittelland regional transport(RM), which then took over the operation of the 22-kilometer SMB route between Solothurn West and Moutier (obsolete Münster ).From Wikipedia

The Emmental-Burgdorf-Thun-Bahn (EBT) is a former standard gauge railway company that was based in Burgdorf in Switzerland. It was created on January 1, 1942 through the merger of the Burgdorf-Thun Railway (BTB) and the Emmental Railway (EB). In 1997, it merged with the United Huttwil-Bahnen (VHB) and the Solothurn-Münster-Bahn (SMB) to form the regional transport Mittelland (RM). The RM, in turn, merged with the BLS Lötschbergbahn (BLS) to form BLS AG in June 2006.
