Company History: WGNR was launched in 1997 as a dinner train operation from Trego (just north of Spooner) to Springbrook, Wisconsin. Despite the name and the Omaha Orange paint, this route was actually part of the Chicago St. Paul Minneapolis & Omaha line to the port of Bayfield on Lake Michigan. Freight service was re-introduced to the line in 2014. The locomotive fleet includes two F7A’s, an SW1, an SD40-2 and an SD38AC.
Brief History: The U.S. is a country of 50 states covering a vast swath of North America, with Alaska in the northwest and Hawaii extending the nation’s presence into the Pacific Ocean. Major Atlantic Coast cities are New York, a global finance and culture center, and capital Washington, DC. Midwestern metropolis Chicago is known for influential architecture and on the west coast, Los Angeles' Hollywood is famed for filmmaking.
