Company History: The TA&W was established in 1902 by W.D. Robinson who owned the Toledo Stone & Glass Sand Company. They built a 10 mile line between Vulcan, where they connected with New York Central and Toledo Terminal and Silica, Ohio. In addition to the sand and gravel traffic, TA&W also served Hickock Oil, Owens Bottling, Medusa Portland Cement and Stadler Fertilizer. TA&W closed and was abandoned in 1983.
