Company History: TXPF was established in 2001 as a subsidiary of mining giant Grupo Mexico to takeover as operator of the old Kansas City Mexico & Orient line from Presidio, Texas on the Mexican border northeast 376 miles to San Angelo Junction, Texas where they connect with Fort Worth & Western and BNSF. The line had been abandoned three years before by South Orient. Grupo Mexico acquired the rights to secure leverage for the movement of products across the border. For ten years the line lost money but now the development of fracking in the region has resulted in increased traffic. Today, TXPF maintains a fleet of 28 leased locomotives.
Brief History: Mexico is a country between the U.S. and Central America that's known for its Pacific and Gulf of Mexico beaches and its diverse landscape of mountains, deserts and jungles. Ancient ruins such as Teotihuacán and the Mayan city of Chichén Itzá are scattered throughout the country, as are Spanish colonial-era towns. In capital Mexico City, upscale shops, renowned museums and gourmet restaurants cater to modern life.
