Company History: The SCT was the product of the 1907 reorganization of the Sioux City Terminal & Warehouse Company Railroad. The purpose of the line was to serve the stock yards and meat packing industry in Sioux City, Iowa. Business peaked in the 1920s when SCT required 11 switchers (most if not all 0-6-0’s) to work the line. They began to dieselize with GE switchers in 1951. As the decade wore on, the packing business began to change. Both livestock and fresh meat began moving increasingly by truck. The SCT closed in 1971 with Burlington Northern taking over the last active spurs.

Midwestern metropolis Chicago is known for influential architecture and on the west coast, Los Angeles' Hollywood is famed for filmmaking.
