Company History: The SCMB was launched in 2012 by the Iowa Pacific Holdings shortline group to be the designated operator of the scenic 32 mile former Southern Pacific line from Watson Junction to Santa Cruz and Davenport, California. In addition to hauling lumber, frozen food and feedstocks to make bio-diesel, SCMB also ran seasonal tourist trains. Two of Iowa Pacific’s F-units (in their standard Illinois Central style chocolate and orange paint) worked the line. Iowa Pacific bowed out in 2018 and Progressive Rail took over as designated operator. They changed the name to St. Paul & Pacific.
