Company History: The RVSC runs from a connection with Union Pacific in Harlingen, Texas west 55 miles to Mission, and Edinburg in the greater McAllen area, as well as the “McAllen Foreign Trade Zone.” They also have an 11 mile branch to Santa Rosa. The company is part of the Iron Horse Resources family of shortlines. RVSC is aggressively courting the oil drilling business including sand, drilling fluid, barite, oil and pipe. They also haul paper, lead ingots, particle board, steel, auto parts, plastics, cotton seed, corn syrup, food and sheet rock. The diesel roster includes an SW1200, a GP9R, a GP7u, two GP16’s, three GP7’s and three GP9’s.
