Company History: PSRR was launched in October of 2008 by the Watco Companies family of shortlines to take over local freight operations on the former Santa Fe San Diego line. The PSRR runs locals, ironically late at night, from San Onofre south to Miramar, California with a branch from Oceanside to Escondido, 62 miles in total. Traffic includes corn, soy, lumber, plastics, beer, paint and recyclables. Four locomotives are assigned to this operation including a pair of GP35’s of Seaboard Air Line ancestry, two former Western Pacific GP40’s (all of which have been upgraded) and an SW1500.

Successor/Parent History: The Watco shortline group is known for painting locomotives in special schemes for universities and even high schools along their lines. We own or operate over 5,500 miles of short line track in North America and Australia. Our vast network connects to all Class I railroads. You get the most efficient, cost-effective route for your shipment.
