Company History: The OCTL was launched in 1986 when the Oil Creek Railway Historical Society purchased the 17 mile former Pennsylvania Railroad line between Titusville and Rynd Farm, Pennsylvania from Conrail. The group began operating tourist trains that July and re-introduced freight service to the line that September. For an 8 month period in 1995-1996, OCTL also operated the former Conrail line between Meadville and Corry, after which the operation was returned to Conrail. Freight traffic includes lumber, plastic and wax with around 20 loads per week traveling the line. Most revenue comes from the tourist operation.
