Company History: The NCIR was established in 1991 to operate 16 miles of mostly industrial trackage in the New Castle, Pennsylvania area (just north of Pittsburgh.) As of this writing, the line is operated with three SW1500’s. Earlier a GP9, a GP9m and a B23-7R were on the roster but have since been sold. Traffic includes LPG, scrap, frac sand and steel ingots.
