Company History: The GCSR launched in 1993 by the American Railroads Corporation shortline family to take over operation of the Santa Fe line from Lometa west to San Saba and Brady, in central Texas. Total length was 62 miles. The first year was pretty grim with only 680 cars moved. Things picked up when they began hauling frac sand from seven loaders on the line. Alas, it was too late. The line fell into bankruptcy in 2012 and was sold at auction to new owners who established the Heart Of Texas Railroad to operate it.
Brief History: The U.S. is a country of 50 states covering a vast swath of North America, with Alaska in the northwest and Hawaii extending the nation’s presence into the Pacific Ocean. Major Atlantic Coast cities are New York, a global finance and culture center, and capital Washington, DC. Midwestern metropolis Chicago is known for influential architecture and on the west coast, Los Angeles' Hollywood is famed for filmmaking.
