Company History: The GLC was launched in 2006 by Federated Railways to take over the Tuscola & Saginaw Bay Railway. They operate the following routes in Michigan: Osmer to Yuma (greater Cadillac) – formerly Ann Arbor; Cadillac to Petosky – formerly Pennsylvania Railroad; Walton to Traverse City – formerly Pennsylvania Railroad; Grawn to Williamsburg – formerly Pere Marquette; Owosso to Fergus – formerly New York Central; Ashley to Middleton – formerly Grand Trunk Western.

In all, GLC runs 424 miles of line, putting them between Central Vermont and Bangor & Aroostook in relative size. Traffic includes clay, grain, plastics, glycol, coke, cement, fertilizer, sand, utility poles, cherries, chemicals, lumber, scrap and building trusses. The locomotive roster at last check included seven GP35’s, six GP38-2’s, an NW2, and a GE 25 ton switcher.
