Company History:
The AL was established in 1941 by the Collins Pine Company to take over the route of the Grande Ronde Lumber Company. It ran 13 miles from a connection with the Western Pacific at Clear Creek Junction, along Lake Almanor, crossing part of the lake on a causeway and going on to Chester, California. Over the years, the Almanor locomotive roster has been lettered for Almanor Railroad, Collins Pine Company or both. The AL was abandoned in 2009.
