Company History:
The EDW opened in 1907 linking its namesake towns in Arkansas with a 10 mile line. They connected with both the Rock Island and the St. Louis Iron Mountain & Southern (later part of MoPac) in El Dorado. In 1959, the 7 miles closest to Wesson was abandoned but 2 of those miles were un-abandoned two years later leaving a 5 mile line in operation from El Dorado to Newall. Traffic includes petroleum products, chemicals and Medium Density Fiberboard. The diesel fleet over the years has consisted of various Alco and EMD switchers.
