Company History: The CBL opened in 1907 to operate 33 miles of trackage around the Bethlehem Steel Johnstown Works in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. The big mill closed in 1992 but today CBL continues to serve a wire mill as well as other customers in the Johnstown area. During the period when the big mill was open, the CBL typically kept a dozen switchers busy. The black a yellow paint scheme was shared by the other shortlines owned by Bethlehem Steel.
