History: Successful enough small fast ships for actions in constrained harbour areas. Two first torpedo boats (Trad and Phuket) were ordered to CRDA in 1934, remaining 7 ships under the 1935 program.
They were designed on base of Italian Spica class torpedo boat, being as though their moderated version. 76mm artillery was delivered by Vickers-Armstrong for unification of an ammunition with already commissioned ships. On an TTs arrangement ships reminded German WWI-era torpedo boats: 2 twin banks were installed on centre line and 2 single TTs were installed aside behind a forecastle break. As well as the majority of Italian-built ships, on trials they exceeded designed speed: in particular, Phuket shown 32.34kts at 10000hp. Hull numbers were 11-13, 21-23, 31-33.
