Company History: Born in 1914 to take over part of the dismembered Missouri & Louisiana Railroad, the 9 mile Bevier & Southern ran from Binkley, Missouri to a connection to Burlington Route in Bevier. Coal mines in the Binkley area provided most of the traffic. The B&S was still all-steam in 1961 with a pair of Moguls and a pair of Mikados. The line closed in 1982. Years later, BNSF took over the route to serve a power plant.

Major Atlantic Coast cities are New York, a global finance and culture center, and capital Washington, DC. Midwestern metropolis Chicago is known for influential architecture and on the west coast, Los Angeles' Hollywood is famed for filmmaking.
