Company History: This 5 mile shortline was built in 1905 to connect a textile mill in Ware Shoals, South Carolina to connections with Southern and Piedmont & Northern at Shoals Junction. Traffic was primarily coal for the mill's boilers. Their all-time diesel roster consisted of a single GE 44-tonner numbered 1955. This diesel was built in 1943 but may have been acquired by the WS in 1955 which would account for the choice of road number. This line shut down in 1985.
