Notes: Ladies 18K Diamond Rolex Italy / Lucien Piccard Ref 8229 Wristwatch Circa 1960's. This is an unusual ladies wristwatch most likely made by Lucien Piccard. The back is stamped Rolex with Reference # 8829. The buckle also has an applied Rolex crown which is stamped on the inside folding clasp "18K Italy". The watch is most likely a Frankin watch with parts from all over but it does make a great looking watch. The wristwatch does have a two piece oval shaped case measuring 30.00mm without the crown x 26.00mm lug to lug. It is framed with 22 round brilliant cut diamonds that weigh 2.00cts combined. The diamonds are VS1- VS2 clarity and G-H color. It is attached to an integrated flat rope link (foxtail) 18k bracelet that measures 6 1/2" long. It weighs 37.80dwt/58.78g without the movement. The watch has a Cal. 1400 rhodium plated Rolex movement with 18 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock absorber, and self-compensating flat balance-spring that is in good running condition. It is topped with a refinished textured solid gold dial with applied gold stick indexes

Manual winding movement, 21,600 A/h, 17 OR 18 jewels, power reserve 44 hours. Used in ladies jewellery watches. Features: Manual winding movement, Escapement: Stone lever, Yoke winding system. It is one of the few Rolex movements to use Incablock shock protection.
