Notes: With the addition of the modern Oyster Perpetual came a slightly larger and more contemporary case measurement of 39mm, a 904L Oystersteel finish, the use of lume on the dial, and a new 31-jewel calibre 3132 perpetual movement. The used Rolex 114300 pairs a handsome all-steel finish with a smooth bezel, a flat-link Oyster bracelet, and a contrasting metallic blue dial topped with silver indices and hands, lume baton markers at the 3, 6, and 9 positions, and highly visible green dots over each marker. Priced just over $5k, this men's dress watch is an excellent entry-level option for anyone who seeks a newer model Rolex with exceptional style.

Variations: 114300-0001 Dark Rhodium, 114300-0002 Red Grape, 114300-0003 Blue.
Mechanism:
Calibre 3132 is a self-winding mechanical movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex. It features a Parachrom hairspring and Paraflex shock absorbers, offering greater resistance to shocks and to extreme conditions. Like all Rolex Perpetual movements, the 3132 is a certified Swiss chronometer, a designation reserved for high-precision watches that have successfully passed the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC) tests. Its architecture, in common with all Oyster watch movements, makes it singularly reliable.
Family Notes: In 1926, Hans Wilsdorf introduced the Oyster watch which used a waterproof case, hence the name. He added "Perpetual" to the name when in 1933 he introduced a reliable automatic self-winding watch. Hence the name means "Waterproof, Self-Winding" in Rolex-speak and generally means the watch is water resistant to a depth of 100 meters.
