History: The Vossloh G1206 is a B'B' diesel hydraulic freight locomotive for line and heavy shunting service, built in Kiel, Germany and used by several European railway operators. It was designed in the mid-1990s by Maschinenbau Kiel (MaK), and further manufactured by Vossloh after it acquired MaK. Its power output is 2,000 hp (1500 kW) or 2,110 hp (1570 kW), depending on the selected engine (Caterpillar or MTU).
More than 160 G1206 have been built and delivered for operation in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands and France.
They are referred to as CFL series 1500 in Luxembourg and as SNCF BB 61000 in France.
