Company History: GO Trains and GO Buses serve a population of seven million in an 11,000-square-kilometre area, stretching from Hamilton and Kitchener-Waterloo in the west to Newcastle and Peterborough in the east, and from Orangeville, Barrie and Beaverton in the north to Niagara Falls in the south. We connect with every municipal transit system in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area, including the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC).
Successor/Parent History: Metrolinx, an agency of the Government of Ontario under the Metrolinx Act, 2006, was created to improve the coordination and integration of all modes of transportation in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. The organization’s mission is to champion, develop and implement an integrated transportation system for our region that enhances prosperity, sustainability and quality of life.
Brief History: Canada is a North American country stretching from the U.S. in the south to the Arctic Circle in the north.
