Company History: The NSRC was established in 1977 to assume operation of a former Maine Central route between North Stratford, New Hampshire and Beecher Falls, Vermont. The primary customer was an Ethan Allen furniture factory in Beecher Falls. They were appointed to be the designated operator of the White Mountain Branch between Lincoln and Concord in 1981 but responsibility for that line was turned over to New England Southern soon after. The locomotive fleet consisted of a GE 44-tonner and an Alco S-1. By 1989 traffic had dwindled to nothing and the NSRC closed their doors.
Brief History: The U.S. is a country of 50 states covering a vast swath of North America, with Alaska in the northwest and Hawaii extending the nation’s presence into the Pacific Ocean. Major Atlantic Coast cities are New York, a global finance and culture center, and capital Washington, DC. Midwestern metropolis Chicago is known for influential architecture and on the west coast, Los Angeles' Hollywood is famed for filmmaking.
