Company History: The SRNJ was launched in 1991 to replace Shore Fast Line as the designated operator of the 16 mile former Jersey Central route between Winslow Junction and Vineland, New Jersey and the 31 mile former Pennsylvania and Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines line from Winslow Junction to Pleasantville. In 1995, they became the designated operator of the 19 mile former P-RSL line between Salem and Swedesboro, New Jersey (replacing West Jersey Railroad) that was owned by Salem County. The county canceled the contract in 2009 and turned the Salem line over to U.S. Rail. However, SRNJ was asked to return as operator on that line in 2012. SRNJ has trackage rights over New Jersey Transit between these two separate lines. The locomotive fleet (as of 2011) included: a GP9, a GP10, three GE 44-tonners, a C420 (in Lehigh Valley heritage paint), two F7A’s, three M420R’s and four M420W’s.

Major Atlantic Coast cities are New York, a global finance and culture center, and capital Washington, DC. Midwestern metropolis Chicago is known for influential architecture and on the west coast, Los Angeles' Hollywood is famed for filmmaking.
