Transportation Company - Seattle & North Coast - Railroad

Company History: The SNCT was established in 1980 to restore rail service to the isolated 51 mile former Milwaukee Road line from Port Townsend to Angeles on Washington’s Olympic Peninsula. Cars for interchange had to be barged to Seattle. The line gained railfan acclaim with their use of F units. Traffic was primarily forest products. With the track left in some disrepair by Milwaukee Road and competition from barge and truck lines (including TOFC trailer traffic encouraged by UP and BN for loading at their Seattle area terminals) the company slipped into bankruptcy just four years after startup. Most of the line has since been abandoned.
Brief History:
The U.S. is a country of 50 states covering a vast swath of North America, with Alaska in the northwest and Hawaii extending the nation’s presence into the Pacific Ocean. Major Atlantic Coast cities are New York, a global finance and culture center, and capital Washington, DC. Midwestern metropolis Chicago is known for influential architecture and on the west coast, Los Angeles' Hollywood is famed for filmmaking.
