Company History: The TXOR was launched in 1991 to acquire two disconnected segments of the Santa Fe. The first ran from Cherokee, Oklahoma south to Orient Junction Texas. The second ran from Shaufler to Maryneal, Texas. The combined total was 351 miles. The deal with Santa Fe included trackage rights between Orient Junction and Shaufler. Since then, the line from Altus, Oklahoma north to Clinton was sold to Farmrail with the rest of the route to the north abandoned. The Altus to Orient Junction line has also been abandoned leaving TXOR with a 17 mile route from Shaffler and Sweetwater to Maryneal, Texas. Traffic is mostly cement and coal.
