Company History: SIND was established in 1939 to takeover freight service on the five mile segment of the Indiana Railroad (a traction line that served much of the state) between Speed and Watson, Indiana. Thanks to its traction heritage, SIND sports sharp curves and tight clearances and is today the sole surviving segment of the old Indiana Railroad. The Essroc cement plant in Speed provides most if not all of today’s traffic. A pair of Alco switchers work the line.
Brief History: The U.S. is a country of 50 states covering a vast swath of North America, with Alaska in the northwest and Hawaii extending the nation’s presence into the Pacific Ocean. Major Atlantic Coast cities are New York, a global finance and culture center, and capital Washington, DC. Midwestern metropolis Chicago is known for influential architecture and on the west coast, Los Angeles' Hollywood is famed for filmmaking.
