Company History: The SOTR was established in 1927 to be a neutral terminal carrier serving 17 miles of track around Omaha, Nebraska’s massive Union Stock Yards. In the 1950s, the manner in which meat made its way from the hoof to our dinner tables began to change. Large, centrally located stock yards fell from favor. By 1978 traffic had largely dried up. The Brandon Corporation was appointed to take over the remaining service.
Brief History: The U.S. is a country of 50 states covering a vast swath of North America, with Alaska in the northwest and Hawaii extending the nation’s presence into the Pacific Ocean. Major Atlantic Coast cities are New York, a global finance and culture center, and capital Washington, DC. Midwestern metropolis Chicago is known for influential architecture and on the west coast, Los Angeles' Hollywood is famed for filmmaking.
