Company History: The OE was established in 1989 as a division of the Wyoming Colorado Railroad (a subsidiary of The Western Group) to take over the 141 mile former Union Pacific branch between Ontario and Burns, Oregon. After just 3 years, the western 120 miles of line was abandoned. Traffic on the remaining 21 mile segment from Ontario to Celatom includes diatomaceous earth and farm products. A pair of GP7’s work the line. In 2020 The Western Group sold the Oregon Eastern to Jaguar Transport Holdings.
