Ontario Southland

Company History: OSR was launched in 1992 when they took over operation of the 17 mile former Canadian Pacific line between Tillsonburg and Ingersoll, Ontario. In 2009, they expanded by taking over the 32 mile former CP line from Woodstock to St. Thomas, Ontario. The two lines connect in Ingersoll. They are also the designated operator of the city owned Guelph Junction Railway. Customers include Future Transfer, Cedar Crest Wood Products, Kissner Group (ice melt products), Johnson Controls, International Beams, Wellmaster, Ontario Refrigerated Services, Auto Warehousing Company, Agrium, Belmont Farm Supply, Sylvite (fertilizer), Messenger Freight Services, Factor Gas Liquids, and they switch the CAMI Automotive plant. As of the summer of 2020, the 20-unit OSR diesel fleet included an NW2, an SW9, a GP9, three RS18U’s, two RS18’s, two GP7’s, an S6, three S13’s, five RS23’s, and a GP7u.
