Company History: Opening in 2018, the CT rail Hartford Line offers passenger service between Springfield, Massachusetts and New Haven, Connecticut. This service, which operates on former New York New Haven & Hartford track, is a joint venture between Connecticut and Massachusetts with some additional federal funding. The coach fleet consists of 16 cars leased from Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority and six GP40-3H diesels transferred from Connecticut’s Shore Line East operation. The plan is for a five year trial period before new equipment would be introduced.
