Company History: BOP launched in 1984 as a spinoff of Union Pacific running from Rio Grande City to a connection with the UP in Mission, Texas 32 miles away. Traffic includes stone, sand, recycled paper, asphalt and animal feed. The line was built in 1925 as part of the St. Louis Brownsville & Mexico (a subsidiary of Missouri Pacific.)
