Company History: This V-shaped Ohio shortline runs from Willard southeast to Mansfield (a former B&O line) then northeast to West Salem (a former Erie line.) Total length is 56 miles. The company opened for business in 1986. Early on, they also operated a 13 mile segment of former Jersey Central line in New Jersey but freight traffic was disappointing and Ashland disposed of that line. There are 9 diesels on the Ashland roster, all EMD's.
