Specific Item Information: This little kit is typical of not only lunch stands but of any small vending operation, anything from watermelons to flowers and fresh produce are displayed along roadsides all over the U.S. in this typical setting. This little kit was based on an article by Sam Swanson. We pictured it as something you'd see at the end of the line, possibly in a "Trolley Park"... set-up some fruits & vegetables around it and you have a farm stand. The fact is, these are almost as common today (especially in rural areas) as they were in the 1920's. Our friend Bill Brown beath the heck out of his and placed it on a busy street as a newspaper stand. Get the idea ?... it's the interpretive part of modeling that makes it fun ! Overall dimensions: 4" x 2.25"
Road Name History:
Commercial structures are any buildings or other man-made structures whose principal purpose is trade. These can be high-rise officer towers, gas stations or fruit stands. Any structure where end-user customers come to buy things from sellers of that product or service are consider commercial structures.

This group will therefore include quite large as well as quite small buildings. Models of these buildings might be kits or pre-assembled. They might be painted or undecorated. They might come with a host of accessories and figures or they might be fairly Spartan.
Brand/Importer Information:
Bar Mills Models is a specialty manufacturer of Model Train structure kits and scenery details. They are located in (surprise surprise) Bar Mills, Maine. Their products span the N, HO, O and S scales. As well as complete structure kits, they also produce fairly obscure details such as external staircases, street elevators and roofing shingles as well as more "run-of-the-Mill" stuff like crates and barrels. Some of their inventory if available online, and some items only through retail hobby shops. All items are unpainted.
