On June 2, InterMountain announced it will re-release two covered hopper products: (1) 4750 Cubic Feet 3-Bay Covered Hopper and (2) Cylindrical Covered Hopper / Trough Hatch. InterMountain lists a January/February 2018 delivery date with a reservation deadline of July 31, 2017.
4750 Cubic Feet 3-Bay Covered Hoppers
These freight cars will be available as an un-decorated kit ($11.50) and in 10 paint schemes ($24.95). Two paint schemes will be new: General Chemical (grey) and Union Pacific (grey). Seven of the paint schemes will come in 6 new road numbers. The Grain Train will be a re-run of the most popular 4 road numbers.
Cylindrical Covered Hopper / Trough Hatch
This freight car will be available as an un-decorated kit ($11.50) and in 8 paint schemes ($26.95), one of which is new (Santa-Fe -ex-Koppel / blue paint scheme). With the exception of the ATSF and Ferrocarriles Nacionales de Mexico models, all the cars represent Canadian road names.
More Metal Wheel sets
With the exception of the undecorated models, all models will come equipped with metal wheel sets, a trend InterMountain continues to embrace. Other features will include etched metal roof walks and sharp painting and lettering.
